The Balsam’s Resort is owned by several different partners. Step back in time and delight in a real Upper Peninsula experience. Choose from two cozy accommodation types: Log Cabins or the Lake View Cottage.

East Lake Resort is located in the beautiful Upper Peninsula on East Lake in Michigan. Come and relax while enjoying the quiet, friendly atmosphere.

East Lake Resort is open April thru November. All cabins are furnished and include a microwave, refrigerator, television, and row-boat. Enjoy the many attraction surrounding our area which include ORV trails, hiking, boating, and fishing. We have picnic area to enjoy a relaxing and quiet evening with nature.

Accommodations

Cabin 1

Cabin 1 features 2 bedrooms with 1 full bed and 4 twin beds, in the combination living room/kitchen cabin. This cabin comfortably sleeps 6.
Features a picnic table and grill. Stroll down the paths to the picnic area for a scenic Michigan view. Perfect for that intimate getaway or whatever pleasure, you will find it here.

Cabin 4

This cabin has 1 bedroom with one full bed. It also has a day bed in the combination living room/kitchen. It comfortably sleeps 3.
This cabin also has a picnic table and grill. It is completely furnished, just bring the food! All East Lake Resort’s cabins come with dishes and towels.

Cabin 5

This East Lake Resort Cabin is located on the lake. It features 2 bedrooms and 2 full beds within this combination living room/kitchen layout.
Visitors will enjoy beautiful sunsets across East Lake. This cabin features 2 out houses, and supplies all appliances. Water is available outside.

Lake House

The Lake House on the water, features 2 separate bedrooms with 2 full size beds. A sofa/bed in the living room will accommodate 2 more.
This home will comfortably sleep 6. It features a beautiful living room, which leads to the porch/deck overlooking the lake. Come enjoy spectacular sunsets.

KOA’s nature trail connects to a paved trail into Mackinaw City, where you can explore Colonial Michilimackinac and Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse. Or continue on the North Western State Trail for miles of hiking/biking and area beaches. Rent a bike from KOA or bring your own. Use this KOA as a base camp for an easy trip across the Mackinac Bridge to Tahquamenon Falls, Soo Locks and Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum on Lake Superior. Take a scenic drive through Tunnel of Trees. You’re less than 2 miles from a Lake Michigan beach. After sightseeing, head back to KOA to enjoy the heated pool and a campfire. There are sites for everyone: pull thrus/full hookups, pop-ups, tents and Cabins. Cable TV/Wi-Fi available at sites. Pool: Memorial Weekend – Labor Day Weekend. Max pull thru: 100 feet.
