Gold Wing Road Riders Midnight Ride
Gold Wing Road Riders Midnight Ride
When midnight strikes in Grand Rapids, the journey to downtown St. Ignace begins, with bikers joining the ride throughout the night enroute to the Mackinac Bridge. Don’t miss Saturday evening’s Parade of Lights! The annual ride raises money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
A little history….
Since 1986, members of chapter Mi-G of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association decided that it was too hot to ride during the day. They talked it over and figured that it would be better (and cooler) if they took their ride at night. Their destination, they decided, would be the Mackinac Bridge. They called some friends and on the third Friday in August 1986, started out on what was later to become known as the Midnight Ride.
All events held at the Mackinac Grille Restaurant, 251 S. State Street.
A full schedule will be available as the event nears.
