Rendezvous at the Straits Powwow
With safety as our top priority, we have made the difficult decision to concel the Rendezvous at the Straits Powwow for 2020. We will have details in the coming weeks for virtual powwow opportunities for those interested: We will resume this annual tradition in 2021. Thank you for your understanding.
Rendezvous at the Straits Powwow, a family event celebrating the unique history of the St. Ignace area at the Father Marquette National Memorial, just off US-2 west of I-75 in St. Ignace. General weekend admission is $5.00; Elders $4.00, children 5 and under free.
This traditional Native American Powwow features traditional dancing, Native flute music, drumming and Hoop dancing. Enjoy vendor demonstrations, authentic, hand-made arts & crafts. Traditional Native American food.
This family event is alcohol and drug free. It is sponsored by the St. Ignace Events Committee, the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, and Kewadin Casinos.
Event officials, volunteers, vendors, participants and spectators must obey State Park Rules & Regulations including, but not limited to, the requirement for a Recreation Passport.
