Historic Sign Driving Tour
Take a drive through history west from St. Ignace along US-2. Visit shoreline sites with signs which give the stories of :
the Mackinac Bridge, a shipwreck, Father Marquette & the French settlers, Lake Michigan, Native Americans, an island fishing village, a Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp, lumbering, the area’s Swedish immigrants, and even the story of US-2 itself.
The driving tour begins at the St. Ignace Public Library, located at 110 W. Spruce Street (one mile south of the St. Ignace Chamber of Commerce).
